Bitta Generation 3° Edition

Chieti Province, Italy – June to October 2019

Art, nature and inclusion came together in this international project designed to engage young people with fewer opportunities through creative expression in natural environments. Supported by Erasmus+ Programme and organised by ARCI Chieti in collaboration with eight European partners, the initiative unfolded across three activities in the Abruzzo region: a seminar, a training course and a youth exchange.

The seminar, held in Chieti, explored how art and non-formal education can foster youth participation and community development in green contexts. A shared methodological platform was developed to guide the next phases of the project.

In San Vito Chietino, the training course focused on promoting the newly created Costa Teatina National Park. Participants worked with local stakeholders to create visual artworks and communication materials inspired by themes of sustainability, biodiversity and ecological awareness.

The final phase, a youth exchange in Ortona, centered on the Regional Nature Reserve “Punta dell’Acquabella.” Activities included exploration of the natural landscape and the production of graphic works, murals and info materials, all reflecting the values of environmental engagement.

A total of 89 participants contributed to the creation of a collective artistic and educational experience. The results, documented in a collection of artworks, represent the continuation of the Bitta Generation’s mission to use art as a tool for youth inclusion, civic awareness, and community transformation.
