Bitta Generation 2° Edition
Banja Luka (Bosnia Herzegovina) & Pančevo (Serbia), 2012
In its second year, Bitta Generation expanded its reach and diversity. Workshops were held in Bosnia Herzegovina and Serbia, gathering artists from over ten countries. The network grew in both size and scope, welcoming new partners and introducing additional disciplines such as graffiti and street art alongside comics, animation, and graphic design. These mediums were used to engage with local communities and amplify environmental and social awareness.
This edition reflected a shift from local anchoring to broader, global themes, embracing participatory democracy and informal activism. Artists shared perspectives on community change through creative expression rooted in personal responsibility and collective consciousness.
The project led to the creation of a second volume of the Bitta book, featuring artworks developed during the workshops and through an open call. It stands as a record of creative resistance, transnational collaboration, and youth-driven environmental storytelling.
