Set in the heart of Abruzzo, Italy, this Study Visit launched the Erasmus+ Youth three-year international project “Social Enterprise and Natural Capital: An Opportunity for Young People and Local Communities” aiming to connect youth social entrepreneurship with the protection and promotion of natural capital. Participants, youth workers, educators and local actors from nine European countries gathered to explore how green areas such as nature reserves, community gardens and biodiversity sites can become catalysts for inclusive economic and social development.

The visit featured hands-on experiences with environmental education centers, local cooperatives, sustainable producers and innovative reuse projects. Special attention was given to the role of ecosystem services in supporting well-being and local economies and to the potential of social enterprises as vehicles for engagement and equality in rural or protected areas.

Throughout the week, participants documented their insights as members of rotating editorial groups. Their reflections, captured in this dossier, will inform the creation of at least ten local “idea incubators” across Europe grassroots hubs where sustainable entrepreneurship and youth participation can grow hand in hand.
