Non Formal Education: An Effective Tool for the Personal Development of Young People
Borrello, Italy, 2025
The training course took place in the rural community of Borrello (Province of Chieti, Italy), surrounded by the Apennine mountains and close to the “Del Verde Waterfalls” Nature Reserve. It was designed for youth workers, volunteers, and peer educators who were increasingly in need of innovative non-formal education methods to address key areas such as intercultural education, communication, critical thinking, environmental awareness, and community development.
The course aimed to offer a practical and methodological journey into non-formal education, helping participants to deepen their understanding and use of these approaches to support the personal development of young people. Through an experiential learning path, participants gained new skills, competences, and tools that could be adapted to different local contexts. The core of the training focused on three Theme Based Activites: Environmental Education, Communication & Critical Thinking, Outdoor Education.
The Dossier is the outcome of the Theme Based Activity on Communication and Critical Thinking
